Dr Finbarr O’Connell
Dr Finbarr O’Connell is a consultant physician in respiratory and internal medicine at St James’s Hospital Dublin. He is also medical director of the William Stokes Postgraduate Centre and intern tutor for Trinity College at St James’s. He has taught on PasTest courses over the last 10 years.
Dr Michael Barry
Dr Michael Barry trained in general internal medicine and clinical pharmacology & therapeutics at the University of Liverpool. His current post is senior lecturer/ consultant clinical pharmacologist at Trinity College Dublin and St. James's Hospital, Dublin. He is also the Clinical Director of the National Centre for Pharmacoeconomics in Dublin. His research interests include cost effectiveness analysis of high cost drugs, economic modelling techniques, pharmacoeconomics in the resource limited setting and aspects of hepatic drug metabolism including drug interactions.
Dr Gaye Cunnane
Dr Gaye Cunnane is a Consultant in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine at St James's Hospital, Dublin. Her PhD studies involved research at St Vincent’s University Hospital Dublin, Karolinska Institute Stockholm, Addenbrooke’s Hospital Cambridge and University Hospital Zurich, during which time she investigated prognostic markers in early inflammatory arthritis. She subsequently undertook a Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, after which she worked as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds. She is the National Specialty Director for Rheumatology and special interests include Early Arthritis, Connective Tissue disorders and osteoporosis
Dr John Jackson
Dr John Jackson a senior lecturer in Clinical Immunology at the Department of Immunology, St James's Hospital and Trinity College Dublin. Formerly director of the Trinity College MSc programme in Molecular Pathology and has lectured extensively in Clinical Immunology to Medical and Science students at undergraduate and post-graduate level. Research focus is on the regulation of inflammatory processes and autoimmune responses to plasma cascade pathways.
Dr Ken O'Byrne
Dr Ken O'Byrne trained in Medical Oncology in Dublin and is currently a Consultanmt Oncologist and Clinical Lecturer in St James's Hospital and Trinity College, Dublin. His research interests include carcinogenesis, growth factors and novel agents and he oversees a translational thoracic oncology laboratory. He is currently a PasTest lecturer and regularly teaches oncology to membership candidates focusing on thoracic malignancies and oncological emergencies.
Dr Elaine Hand
Dr Elaine Hand has a PhD in biostatistics from the Department of Public Health and Primary Care in Trinity College Dublin. She is currently working as a statistical consultant with the Haughton Institute; her time is divided between St James Hospital and the Adelaide & Meath Hospitals.
Dr Anne-Marie O'Dwyer
MD, FRCPI, MRCPsych
Dr Anne-Marie O'Dwyer is a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin. She initially trained in medicine, training in psychiatry in Ireland and later in the UK at the Maudsley Hospital London, and Addenbrookes Hospital Cambridge. She was appointed Consultant Psychiatrist at the Maudsley and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Psychiatry, London.
She returned to St James's Hospital, Dublin where she works as a consultant liaison psychiatrist, setting up the Psychological Medicine Service at St James's in 2000. She works with a multi-disciplinary team providing psychological assessment and intervention to all areas of the general hospital including the Emergency Department, acute medical and surgical wards. Her interest is in the overlap between physical and psychological illness.
Dr Patrick Ormond
Dr Patrick Ormond is a Consultant Dermatologist and Dermatological Surgeon in St James's Hospital.He trained in Dermatology in Ireland and underwent his surgical training in Newcastle upon Tyne and Cardiff. His main interest is Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Skin Cancer.
